The Prime Minister: The Celebration of Normalization in Washington is a dark day in the history of the Arab Nation

Shtayyeh calls upon Arab people not to participate in such celebration .. "Today, the Arab Initiative of Peace is being buried and the Arab solidarity will die with it."

The Council of Ministers: The League of the Arab States is standing in silence before the explicit violation of its resolutions

 

Ramallah – Prime Minister's Office: H.E. Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh called upon Arab States to condemn the Bahrain-Emirates move, and not to participate in the celebration of normalization with Israel that is scheduled to be held in Washington tomorrow.

Shatyyeh added at the beginning of the Council of Ministers weekly session, that is held in Ramallah on Monday that "We will witness a dark day in the history of the Arab nation, the defeat of the institution of the League of Arab States, whose is no longer a collective entity, but became a scattering one and wedge for the Arab solidarity". He considered that tomorrow is a day to be added to the calendar of the Palestinian pain and the record of the Arab breakdowns, as the Arab peace initiative is murdered on this day, and with it the Arab solidarity dies, and we must rise united".

Shtayyeh proceeded: "The Arab absurdity towards the occupation, starting with UAE and then, Bahrain, for signing an Arab surrender agreement for the Deal of the Century, which comes after the main part of this deal is foiled by Palestine, which found itself, later on, fighting with no one to watch its back from the Arab east in UAE and Bahrain".   

 H.E. the prime minister confirmed that we are, in the city of pains, Jerusalem, facing one attack after another against our holy places, and a strike after another by the occupation and its settlements. Yet, we are well armed by our faith in our right and with our truthful belonging to the Arab nation and its sincere people, in addition to the international legitimacy and international law.

 

Shtayyeh added that the Minister of Council is considering providing a recommendation to H.E. the President to correct Palestine's relation with the League of Arab States, whose standing in silence against the explicit violation of its resolutions, of which none is actually implemented, and has become a symbol for Arab weakness and incapacity.   

H.E. the Prime Minister considered the Arab Normalization with Israel is an affront to the Arab dignity that is being abused, wondering is it really possible that the Arab would accept to be allowed by Israel to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is under occupation, and that Arab have nothing more than a conditional visit to Al-Aqsa!

On the other hand, the prime minister confirmed that the government is supporting every effort made for ending division, as well as supporting all efforts made towards a comprehensive national reconciliation that must be through public election for renewing the blood of the institution, strengthening our internal frontline, restoring the democratic beam in our everyday life, and  revitalizing life in the Parliament, which is one of the cornerstones of the State of Palestine that is recognized by the world. 

The Prime Minister emphasized on the important outputs of the Palestinian factions meeting, and the necessity of work on those outputs to bring them into light and to be implemented on the ground. We have been saying, since a very long time, that the meeting is not only in the closed rooms, but on the ground, as this land is for belonging and fighting settlement/colonization, the procedures of occupation in Jerusalem, demolishing homes, demolishing water wells in Tubas and Northern Valleys, confiscating lands and daily arrests.. and many others.

 

Shtayyeh warned that with this political situation, the number of Coronavirus infection cases is rising, which a very disturbing matter, as wedding ceremonies are still being held in some places and crowding in others. He confirmed that penalties and fees shall continue to be against those who violators.

He added: “We have stopped many weddings, closed the halls and wedding venues and we have ordered penalties and fees against those who violated the rules.”

Shhtayeh confirmed that the government is monitoring the extent of commitment to instructions and preventive measures up until the end of this week or “We will go back and issue measures no one wants, but we might go for if you don’t commit to the declared measures.” He pointed out that the Emergency Committee will have a meeting this week to review the whole situation, as we are following upon the epidemiological status day by day in Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, and we provide them all what we can of financial and technical support and expertise as well.”

The Prime Minister expressed the deep solidarity with the people of Sudan that is facing a wave of destructive and deadly floods, it did not witness in 100 years.

He also shared his deepest condolences and sincere sorrows for the death of the Journalist Hasan Al-Kashef, who passed away yesterday and worked for Palestine using both his pen and his mind for serving its cause.

Moreover, the Prime Minister saluted who worked on the implementation of the agricultural cluster in Qalqiliya, H.E. the Minister of Agriculture, his teams and our partners in this program. It is now the first year anniversary for starting working with the agricultural cluster in Qalqiliya. H.E. the Prime Minister considers that this project has enrooted us to the land, increased our belonging to it and strengthened the trust between us and the people there.

The Council of Ministers listened to a report on the financial situation as Israel continues to hold clearance money, in addition to poor revenues in the treasury due to the impacts of the Cornoavirus on the national economy.

In addition, it listened to a report on the visit of the ministerial mission to Gaza Strip and the aids provided to hospitals in Gaza, about 20 trucks containing medical requirements and ventilators to enable them to face the Coronavirus epidemic outbreak and reducing its spread. Thus, the council decided to continue providing every possible aid to our people in Gaza.

The Council of Ministers listened to a report on the political situation and the discussions that were carried out during the ministerial meeting via Video Conference that was presided by the State of Palestine in September 9th, as well as dropping the Palestinian resolution bill that was offered on the Council for condemning the normalization between UAE and Israel.

Also, the Council of Ministers listened to a report on the progress of the educational process and preventive measures taken and applied in schools for protect students and teachers from getting infected by the Coronavirus.

 

Furthermore, the council of ministers listened to a report on the situations in the holy city of Jerusalem and the Clusters – Based Development plan that is set by the government in order to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable development covering vital sectors in Jerusalem such as housing, health, education, tourism, youth and women, as well as working to translating the needs of those sectors into a strategic workplan and setting implementations mechanisms for them.

Additionally, the Council of Ministers discussed the outputs of a year of working in the agricultural cluster in Qalqiliya Governorate. A film summarizing the transformations and achievements made throughout a year since the work was commenced in the agricultural cluster in the governorate. 8749 farmers, distributed among 34 localities, have benefited from the developmental projects, and 42 thousand temporary job opportunities and 426 permanent jobs were provided. Also, filling houses and production units were established for women associations in the governorate, in addition to planting more than 43 thousand fruitful trees and opening farming/agricultural roads for more than 100 km as well as  qualifying and reclaiming 17772 dunums and increasing the area of irrigated lands to 800 dunums, and doubling irrigation water to 35 thousand cubic meters. The budget for all interventions implemented in the first year reached USD 6,661,068 million, USD 4,305,700 million of which is contribution by government while the remaining is by the partners.

 

The Council of Ministers decided the following:

  1. Approving the first progress report of the agricultural cluster in Qalqiliya.
  2. Approving the Capital’s developmental cluster with more focus on health, education and housing.
  3. Approving negotiations standards for the tendering of providing the Palestinian market with oil products for the year 2021 – 2022/
  4. Approving the system of identifying work sectors and the level of risk/danger, fees system in lieu of approving and renewing the approval of the supervisor, committees and training programs.
  5. Allocating a budget for rehabilitating a dumpster in Jericho.
  6. Allocating a budget for providing technical and legal services for the rights of workers working for the other side/Israeli occupation, and following up on the collection of their dues and receivables until they are directly transferred to their personal accounts.
  7. Approving procurement permissions for a number Palestinians of those who are not holders of Palestinian ID
