The 18th Government's Comprehensive Review: Toward a Legal Reformation

 

 

Ramallah, Sunday, July 02, 2022 –

 

The Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh, assured fellow Palestinian citizens that the Palestinian Government would not lay new tax burdens on their shoulders and emphasized the need for the Committee formed with respect to court fees to complete its consultations and perception as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of holding consultation meetings between all components of the Judicature and the Justice Sector in order to promote a complete and comprehensive review of all obstacles and problems, thereby contributing to the improvement of the judicial system and its conformity with all variables, facilitating the process of litigation and expediting the completion of cases in the courts of law.

His Excellency provided the previous guidance during a meeting with a delegation from the Bar Association chaired by the Bar Captain, Mr. Suhail Ashour, in the presence of the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammad Fahhad Al-Shalaldeh, Saturday at his office in Ramallah.

Furthermore, Dr. Shtayyeh stressed the need to establish a Legal Support Unit in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice to assist, provide services, and represent citizens in need. The Prime Minister congratulated the newly-elected Bar Association captain, stressing that the Palestinian unions are a pivotal component in the national project, the spirit of national partnership, and the work collectively for Palestine and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the current difficult circumstances. 

For their part, the Union Council emphasized cooperation with the Government from the perspective of enhancing partnership based on dialogue, understanding of roles, and mutual respect.
