PM and Mission Director of USAIDWBG; On Enhanced Cooperation and Development Projects

The Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh, held talks with the Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAIDWBG), Ms. Aler Grubbs, at his office in Ramallah Monday. The meeting discussed possible ways to enhance cooperation further and implement development projects in line with the priorities of the Palestinian government and the National Development Plan.
His Excellency indicated the importance of supporting industrial zones, solar-power energy projects, youth empowerment programs, job creation, and many other sectors. At last, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of USAID's support for the Palestinian people.
For her part, Grubbs announced that this year the United States Agency would provide $125 million in support of projects and $270 million next year. The agency's assistance will be devoted to supporting water and sanitation projects, youth empowerment, vocational and technical education and training, supporting the private sector, Jerusalem hospitals, humanitarian assistance of the most vulnerable communities in Palestine, and the support of civil society institutions.
