The Prime Minister's Meeting with 40 Donor Countries and International
Organizations Ahead of the AHLC Meeting

Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh today participated in a meeting via video-conference with 40 donor countries and international organizations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Quartet.

The meeting discussed the latest political and financial developments and the ongoing preparations for the AHLC meeting, scheduled to be held next February in Oslo, Norway.

The Prime Minister called upon donor countries to act beyond labeling settlement products by taking significant measures toward boycotting Israeli colonial settlements. The Prime Minister explained that Israel is imposing a deteriorating fait accompli in Palestine through settlement expansion, land confiscation, restricting Palestinians' access to their resources, and the escalating settlers' attacks.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said: "Economic development is not separate from the Palestinian political and national project. Rather, it is a lever towards ending Israel's occupation and establishing the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital," indicating that the world must move to end this occupation because the status-quo cannot continue.

The Prime Minister added that the received tax revenues, which Israel was withholding, will enable the completion of the development plans focusing on clean energy, technological innovation, and balanced and inclusive development.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government's plans, including sectoral strategies, cluster-based development, and addressing the economic and social repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, are ready for implementation to achieve the goals of steadfastness and breaking away from the dependency relationship imposed by the reality of the occupation.
