H.E. Dr. Mohammed shtayyeh discussed with the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs the latest developments

The Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, received today, Sunday, in his office in Ramallah, the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Niels Annen, where he discussed with him the latest political developments.

The Prime Minister thanked the German position rejecting the annexation plan and supporting the two-state solution, considering that the solid international and Arab position and the will of the leadership and the Palestinian people is what thwarted the Israeli annexation plans.

The Prime Minister reiterated the Palestinian leadership’s openness to return to a political path that would be based on a clear reference, whether the agreements signed with the Israeli side, or international law and decisions recognized by the whole world, stressing President Mahmoud Abbas’s call to hold an international conference for the Palestinian cause.

Shtayyeh said, "Even if annexation stops, we will not allow the status quo to return to its previous quo, where settlements continue and the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state continues," calling on Germany to play a role in breaking the status quo through a serious political path.

For his part, the German minister affirmed his country's continued support for the two-state solution and its support for international law and decisions.
