During a meeting for the Leadership in Al-Aghwar to face the annexation

Shtayyeh announces a set of projects for Al-Aghwar

 

Al-Aghwar : H.E. Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, during a meeting, in Fasayil Village in Al-Aghwar, for the government, the executive committee of Palestine Liberation Organization and the Central Committee of Fateh Movement, and the Secretary Generals of the national fractions, and the Second National Conference on Wednesday to face the annexation plans of Al-Aghwar, announced a set of projects for the region as the follows:

  1. All dues for Al-Aghwar farmers will be paid fully by the government.
  2. We will allocate the water wells owned by the government in Al-Aghwar region for the farmers. These wells will pump 3.5 million cubic meters of water.
  3. We will carry out water treatment for Al A'uja well, so it pumps around 600 thousand cubic meters of water.
  4. We will purchase 5 new farming tractors for five agricultural/farming associations operating in Al-Aghwar.
  5. We will provide easy loans for all investors who want to work in Al-Aghwar.
  6. There are some female workers working in the settlements. We will establish agricultural associations for those working women so that they work in our lands, in addition to enhancing the productivity in our national economy.
  7. We will support electric rate for all residents in Al-Aghwar.
  8. We will build 11 solar energy stations through the Palestinian Energy & Natural Resources Authority.
  9. We will provide infrastructure projects with an amount of (ILS 11.5 Million) for villages located in Al-Aghwar.
  10. We will give an exemption of 75% for Al-Aghwar residents from the fees of building licenses for those who want to build a new house.
  11. We will provide 30 scholarships for Al-Aghwar students in fields/specializations of medicine, agricultural engineering and all other specializations that strengthen their existence.
  12. We will open postal service offices in Al A'uja and Al Jiftlik, which will become branches for the Government Bank that is to be established in Palestine soon.
  13. We will provide two fire engines to serve our people in Al-Aghwar, and we will provide 3 mobile clinics for Bedouin localities in Al-Agwar, in addition to providing an ambulance.
  14. Starting of the next month, the motivations system for investing project for investors in Al-Aghwar will be initiated.
  15. Providing a bonus to all public employees from Al-Aghwar similar to that provided to Jerusalem citizens working in the Palestinian public sector.
  16. We will build three new schools in the region, and we will provide all classes in all of Al-Aghwar schools with air conditions, in order to facilitate the educational process at schools. We will also equip the yards and health/sanitation facilities in 15 schools in Al-Aghwar.
  17. Every young male or female, wherever they are, wants to start an agricultural project in Al-Aghqar region, I declare here, by your name, that the Waqf lands and the government lands are open for investments, by 10 dunums for each investor. We welcome all who want to invest in Al-Aghwar and we will provide them with all what they need.

The Prime Minister said: “This program is within the government framework plan in the development plan in its comprehensive form, and within the part related to the cluster based agricultural development in Al-Aghwar and the part regarding the infrastructure.”

Shtayyeh added: “In the name of H.E. the President, Mahmoud Abbas, who wants this group to say out loud, for those who are gathering in the Security Council today, for the pillars of the American Administration that are discussing annexation, and for the components of the Israeli government that are not discussing whether to annex or not, but are discussing what to annex, in your names, we tell them, from where I stand, we refuse the annexation, and no for the settlement projects, and no for the Judaization of Jerusalem City and other cities.”

The Prime Minister proceeded: “Al-Aghwar region holds in 250 thousand palm trees, and is the home of 30% of the West Bank water. Al-Aghwar region is our contact line with Jordan and from that region’s land, we were made.”  

Shtayyeh explained: “The Israeli annexation project is a systematic project. Al-Aghwar have been under threat since the days of Alon Project in 1968, which wanted to annex Al-Aghwar. Israel is saying either you give us what we want or we take it by force. For Israel we say, we will not give it you nor you will take it from us.”

The Prime Minister added: “Al-Aghwar region, just like Jerusalem, Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories, is a main component of the components of the State of Palestine. We will stay loyal to every centimeter of this land, and we will not accept the annexation of any part of our land, and we will not allow it. We know that our people have a will of steel.”

Shtayyeh concluded: “We will keep our promise to our hero detainees and our martyrs, and for all those who fell dead in Al-Aghwar to preserve its Palestinian identity, and its Arab soul. We will remain loyal/faithful to them by all standards. Al-Aghwar will remain Palestinian, and we tell the world that we will remain truthful for this land, and we will face the annexation with everything we can.”
