During a meeting with the civil society institutions

Shtayyeh: Our position regarding defending the human freedoms and rights and preserving them especially in light of the emergency is persistent
 H.E. Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, the Prime Minister, held a meeting with a number of civil society institutions representatives from Gaza Strip and West Bank including Jerusalem today, Thursday, via videoconference; where he informed them on the government efforts that are put on in order to fight the Coronavirus outbreak, as well as occupation obstacles and its constant agitation towards such efforts.

Moreover, the Prime Minister confirmed that the emergency is related to the exceptional status that Palestine is living likewise as any other country, that is the Coronavirus outbreak. H.E. also stressed on the continuing constant position of the government in defending human rights and protecting freedoms, as well as making sure that they are not violated.

H.E. Dr. Shtayyeh also pointed out that the government is dealing with just and equality with all the Palestinian regions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to our people in Diaspora; whether this was in terms of medical aids, requirements, equipment and preparations out of the principle of loyalty and responsibility towards our people wherever they are.

Furthermore, the civil society institutions representatives, in return, expressed their support for the proactive steps taken by the government and for the decision that H.E. Mr. president made by imposing emergency in Palestine, in addition to all the procedures and measures taken in order to fight the Coronavirus without stepping away from this purpose. They have also expressed the utilization/harnessing of civil society institutions capabilities for supporting the government’s efforts in facing the Coronavirus pandemic.
