Shtayyeh briefed a delegation of British parliamentarians on the developments

He called on European parliaments to press for recognition of the Palestinian state

The Prime Minister: Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, received today, Monday in his office in Ramallah, a delegation of British parliamentarians from the Conservative Party led by the head of the Parliamentary Defense Committee Tobias Elwood, as he briefed them on the latest political developments.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said: "The map contained in US President Trump's plan is disastrous, as it reflects a dismembered Palestinian state with tunnels or bridges connected to it, which Israel can close whenever it wants."

Shtayyeh called on the UK and European parliaments who voted for recognition of the Palestinian state to pressure their governments to implement recognition, in order to protect the two-state solution and stand up for justice for the Palestinian people in light of the threat posed by Trump's plan of international law.

The Prime Minister stressed that "there is a need for multilateral sponsorship of the peace process, after the United States lost its role as an honest broker of the peace process, and a reference in accordance with international laws and legitimacy, within a specific time frame to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories."
