Shtayyeh: We appreciate the position of the Netherlands and the European Union rejecting the deal of the century

Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, discussed today, Wednesday in his office in Ramallah, with Dutch Minister of Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Sigrid Kaag, strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the sectors of agriculture, women and human rights.

The Prime Minister said: "We appreciate the position of the Netherlands and the European Union rejecting the deal of the century, and certainly the rights of the Palestinian people are in harmony with international law and international agreements."

The Prime Minister continued: "The Century deal does not include Jerusalem, refugees, and settlements, nor the 1967 borders, but rather talks about accepting the status quo, this is not a deal, and we will not accept it because it is not in line with international law, European standards for conflict resolution, nor the decisions of nations. United. "

Shtayyeh added: "We will not accept Jerusalem's exchange of money and trade for the rights of the Palestinian people. We welcome all support provided to us in order to empower our people."

And Shtayyeh added, "This visit constitutes a message of support to our people and a delegation of businessmen and women to benefit from the Dutch experiences in the field of business, in line with the government's strategy for development with clusters."

For her part, the Dutch minister affirmed her country's position in support of a two-state solution in harmony with European standards and international law. She said: "I came with a delegation of Dutch investors who are looking for an opportunity to invest in Palestine to create job opportunities for young people in line with the plans of the Palestinian government”.

On the sidelines of the visit, the two governments signed an agreement worth more than 12 million euros to encourage investment and employment, as well as an agreement to support the Yatta water network project in southern Hebron at a cost of 4.5 million euros.

The Prime Minister and the Dutch Minister also participated in a joint meeting between the Palestinian investors and their Dutch counterparts, which witnessed the signing of a joint quality agreement to invest in converting solid waste into energy.
