Premier discusses with the World Bank Country Director, ways to support the Palestinian government development plans. Reveals the establishment of a database for all projects, distributed geographically according to the priorities of each area

 

Prime Minister’s Office: During a meeting with the World Bank Country Director for West Bank and Gaza, Mr. Kanthan Shankar, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh discussed today ways to support the Palestinian national economy and government plans.

 

 Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, discussed with the World Bank the possibility of supporting government's development plans, especially those developed in Economic disintegration [MA1] from the Israeli occupation.

 

Shtayyeh pointed out that the government began to move towards the Arab depth, to boost import and export, and began to implement the development strategy of clusters, which was launched from Qalqilya, in addition to its orientation towards education and vocational training, in order to redesign the educational process and align it with the requirements of the labor market. To reduce unemployment among university graduates.

 

In another context, Dr Shtayyeh pointed out that the government is currently working on establishing a database of all the projects being implemented, and which will be executed in all Palestinian areas, with the aim of uniting development efforts and linking them to geography and priority needs of each region. He also added that the Government is in the process of establishing a Development and Investment Bank after unifying the support funds in the Ministry of Finance, in order to encourage the application of ideas and pilot projects, which accelerate the transformation from the state of need and consumption to production.
