Key Remarks by Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh Ahead of the Cabinet 134th Meeting

25/11/2021

-A few days ago, we participated in the AHLC meeting, held in the Norwegian capital, Oslo. On the sidelines of the meeting, attended by 27 countries and 150 participants, we convened many fruitful meetings with senior international officials, who promised to support the two- state solution, renew their financial aid to the Palestinian government, and to pressure Israel to stop the unjust deductions of Palestinian tax revenues. All participants condemned Israel’s colonial settlement expansion, the policy of creating a fait accompli, and human rights violations. In addition, they demanded to allow holding the elections in occupied Jerusalem, and allow the Palestinian people to exercise sovereignty over their land. We also called upon these countries to recognize an independent State of Palestine on the borders of 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

-The Cabinet expresses its deep appreciation for The GA Second Committee (Economic and Financial) that approved a draft resolution confirming the Permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people over their natural resources.

-We call on international human rights organizations to immediately intervene and save the lives of Palestinian prisoners currently on hunger strike. We also urge these organizations to condemn increasing killing and arrest attacks against our children.

-We condemn the Israeli aggression against Adnan Ghaith, the governor of Jerusalem, and we demand an end to violence against our people in Jerusalem.
