During a meeting with the President of the Islamic Bank for Development,
Shtayyeh calls upon the Islamic Bank for Development to provide urgent aid to support medium and small sized enterprises in Palestine

H.E. Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, the Prime Minister, held today, Sunday, in his office, a meeting via Video Conference with the President of the Islamic Bank for Development, in Jeddah, Dr. Bandar Bin Hamza Hajjar, in the presence of the Prime Minister’s Consultant for the Arab and Islamic Funds, H.E. Mr. Naser Qatami.


H.E. the Prime Minister, called upon the Bank to provide urgent aid for the support of medium and small sized enterprises in Palestine in the light of the Coronavirus outbreak that imposed a difficult economic situation in Palestine and in the world too.

Moreover, the Prime Minister informed the President of the Islamic Bank for Development about the general situation in Palestine and the measures taken by the government in order to face the Coronavirus pandemic and the economic and financial consequences of such measures on Palestine.


Furthermore, the Prime Minister praised the efforts made by the Islamic Bank for Development and its staff on the efforts put on to support and help member countries in the bank in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic, in addition to its constant support to Palestine in particular.


Lastly, the President of the Islamic Bank for Development, in return, praised the efforts made by the Palestinian government, in addition to the procedures and measures taken in order to face the Coronavirus pandemic. He also promised that the Bank will put on every possible effort to fulfill the Prime Minister’s request to provide urgent aid to support medium and small sized enterprises in Palestine. Thus, he informed Shtayyeh on the initiatives the Bank is doing/performing in order to raise funds and support to assist the countries during this crisis.
