H.E. Dr. Mohammed shtayyeh called the Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs and discussed with him developments
Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, called the Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, His Highness Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, conveying to him the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, his government and the brotherly Omani people, stressing the depth of Palestinian-Omani relations.
Shtayyeh discussed with His Highness the implications of the Emirati-Israeli normalization agreement on the state of Arab consensus on the Palestinian issue, considering that "the Arab Peace Initiative is the reference set by the Arabs to solve the Israeli-Arab conflict, and any retreat from it is a weakening of the Arab-Palestinian position."
Shtayyeh called on Muscat to play a role in a constructive Arab dialogue to restore Arab unity on various issues, especially the first Arab issue, Palestine, and to build a common and clear Arab strategy to deal with these issues.
For his part, His Highness Al Said affirmed his country's continued support for the Palestinian cause and rights, noting that "the position of the Sultanate and the Sultan is clear, and that the Palestinian issue is ours."
