During his meeting with British parliamentarians

Shtayyeh calls on the British government to implement Parliament's recognition of the State of Palestine

Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh: "Israel does not want a two-state solution or one country. Alliances in it now are for the sake of annexation only, and the dialogue in Israel is not annexation or not, but rather what and how much will be annexed from the Palestinian territories.

The Prime Minister added: "Israel, with its measures, wants to destroy the Palestinian Authority, and we will not allow it to do so. This authority came as a result of the struggles of our people and we will preserve it, and we are working to materialize the Palestinian state on the ground."

This came during his meeting today, Monday, via video conference, about 40 British parliamentarians, in addition to a number of journalists and civil society institutions in Britain, in the presence of the Palestinian ambassador to Britain Hossam Zamelat.

The Prime Minister stated that "the annexation plans represent an existential threat to us as a people and cause and a threat to regional security."

The Prime Minister called on the British Parliament as well as European parliaments to discuss decisions that make Israel bear the consequences of violating international law, such as punitive measures such as boycotting settlement products, non-recognition of Israeli settlement universities, and discouraging European citizens from settlers from residing in and working in settlements.

Shtayyeh called for the existence of multilateral international sponsorship of the peace process, with clear references on the basis of international law and United Nations resolutions, and that it have a specific time frame.
