Summary of Key Remarks by Secretary General of the Palestinian Council of Ministers, Dr. Amjed Ghanem at the annual third conference of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission

Secretary General of the Palestinian Council of Ministers, Dr. Amjed Ghanem, attended yesterday, Tuesday 7 December 2021, the annual third conference of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission,  on “Measures to Prevent Corruption in Public Sector”. His Excellency presented  a research paper on (Electronic Governance as an Essential Means to Enhance Integrity, Transparency, Justice and Efficiency in the Public Sector – Palestine Case as a Model).
 
Besides highlighting the Palestinian case, His Excellency focused on prominent topics tackling the following:
1. How information systems and technology can serve the governance issues.
2. The technology cluster, public administration, and E-government services system ratified by the Palestinian Council of Ministers, and how they serve governance in all its aspects.
3. The significance of information technology governance that certainly leads to the optimal use of information technology in government administrative work.
 
Dr. Ghanem supported his presentation with successful global and regional case studies, experiences, and statistics that showed Palestine's  technological capacity from one hand and readiness of the Palestinian society to positively deal with information technology and data on the other hand . " information technology  is not systematically used in the government sector,  there is a need to govern the information technology sector so that optimal investment in governmental administrative work achieved" Secretary General added.
 
 Dr. Ghanem concluded with specific  recommendations that focused on the need to continue building the governance requirements in the Palestinian government sector, building technological business system as a central means to govern this sector under the umbrella of the technology and public administration cluster, ensuring optimal employment and investment of information technology and carrying out periodic measurement of the success of the use of technology and information systems and further using information technology in all educational stages, and finally to include the Palestinian technology within the universal criteria in order to consolidate the Palestinian presence amongst world countries.
