The Palestinian Prime Minister Meets the President of Japan’s International Cooperation Agency on WEF Sidelines 

 

DAVOS, Monday, May 23, 2022 -

 

The Palestinian Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh, held talks on Monday with the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Tanaka Akihiko, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos. The talks focused on ways to support and develop industrial zones in Palestine, as Japan is the key supporter of Jericho's industrial zone. Moreover, Japan supports SMEs in the refugee camps and provides substantive and technical support for the education and vocational and technical training sectors.

His Excellency discussed with Mr. Tanaka Japan's support for the cultural sector, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage. Furthermore, the Prime Minister appreciated Japan's continued support for Palestine at every level and the implementation of numerous development projects.

 

The State of Palestine's Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Observer representing Palestine at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), Ibrahim Khraishi, attended the meeting.
