On the Sidelines of the Ad-Hoc Liaison Committee Meeting in Brussels, The Prime Minister Meets Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs

 

Ramallah, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 –

 

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, met with the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt, and discussed the preparations for the convening of the formal Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) meeting on Tuesday, in the Belgian capital of Brussels, in addition to discussing recent developments in the Palestinian situation.

His Excellency stressed the need for earnest international pressure on Israel to halt its actions and violations against Palestinians, including settlement expansion and land seizures that destroy the two-state solution.

Regarding the donors' conference, the Prime Minister said: "Economic support must be accompanied by a political process." Dr. Mohammed added, "Israel should allow us to invest in the so-called 'C' areas and resolve all pending issues with it."

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Abdul Rahim Al-Farra, the Minister of Finance, Shukri A. Bishara, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Council of Ministers, Dr. Amjad Ghanem, the Norwegian Special Envoy for the Peace Process, John Hensen, and the Representative of Norway to Palestine, Torunn Viste, attended the meeting.
