Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh, held on Thursday, two seminars in the Swedish capital Stockholm, in the presence of the Minister of Social Development Ahmed Majdalani, the Palestinian Ambassador to Sweden Hala Fariz, and the Swedish Consul General in Jerusalem Jessica Olawson, the first seminar was at the Swedish Institute for International Affairs in the presence of a number of researchers and workers in international affairs, and the second seminar was with representatives About civil society organizations in Sweden on youth and women issues.

Development under occupation is a very difficult task, because Israel controls our economic capabilities, crossings and borders, and uses the lands of C as a geographical reservoir for settlement expansion and violates all the agreements signed, noting that the policies of the occupation are causing huge losses on the Palestinian economy.

He continued: "However, the Palestinian government adopted a strategy of gradual disengagement from the relationship of dependency imposed on us by the reality of the occupation, by strengthening the national product, and encourage direct trade with the world and Arab countries in particular."

On the other hand, the Prime Minister briefed the researchers on the efforts of President Mahmoud Abbas to make the elections a success, pointing out that there is a response and approval from all Palestinian factions, including Hamas, stressing that the elections are a gateway to end the division after the failure of all the agreements signed.

The prime minister said: "We asked the European Union and the United Nations to pressure Israel to enable us to hold elections in Jerusalem, and already began the efforts."

On the other hand, Shtayyeh said: "One of the priorities of his government is to empower youth and women economically, through two programs: the first is to enhance vocational education and training; encourage the application of ideas and pilot projects

In the same context, the Prime Minister explained that the empowerment of women in Palestine starts from their economic empowerment, referring to a number of laws recently passed by the government to advance the status of women, including setting the minimum marriage and enabling the mother to manage the affairs of her children such as opening a bank account.
