H.E. Dr. Ishtayeh welcomes the decision of the European Court labeling settlements product, and considers it as a condemnation of the occupation and adherence to the two –state solution
Dr. Ishtayeh welcomed the decision issued by the European Justice Court, which oblige Israel to label the products manufactured in the Israeli settlements, which has been constructed on the occupied land of the West Bank” made in settlements”. Dr. ishtayeh has considered the decision as a major victory of the big efforts made by the Palestinian Diplomacy on the International arena. As well as the efforts made by the friends and activists who advocate the Palestinian cause around the world, and those who call for boycotting the Israeli settlements products based on the illegality of which constitute a war crime under the International Law. The Prime Minister considered that the decision of the European Court is exceptional importance, given its timeliness, which coincides with the serious steps taken by the Palestinian government for the gradual withdrawal from the occupation, and the importance of the legal body issued by the European Court of Justice, describing the decision as a new legal condemnation by governments and people.
The prime minister called on the United Nations to publish the names of European companies operating in the Israeli colonies, waving the Palestinian government to prosecute these companies to sue them, and get them to stop working in those settlements.
