Weekly cabinet meeting 62
During the weekly Cabinet meeting, held in Ramallah today, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh reviewed the most significant risks and challenges of the implementation of the Israeli annexation plans of parts of the occupied West Bank. Dr. Shtayyeh also praised the widespread international condemnation of these plans.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Palestinian leadership's rejection of the annexation of any part of the occupied Palestinian land. He stressed the leadership's readiness to cooperate with any international effort exerted by the Quartet that would lead to the implementation of the international legitimacy resolutions calling for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the borders of 4 June 1967.
In the same context, Dr. Shtayyeh called for wide public participation in the Jericho rally, to be held this evening, with the participation of members of the PLO Executive Committees, Fatah Central Committee, Ministers and officials, and representatives of the diplomatic community in Palestine. Dr. Shtayyeh noted that the Palestinian Government, PLO Executive Committee, and Fatah Central Committee would convene a meeting in the Jordan Valley on Wednesday.
The Minister of Health briefed the Cabinet on the developments of the epidemiological situation and measures taken to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the governorates that recorded an alarming increase in the number of infections. Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs provided a briefing on the Ministry's plans, in cooperation with all relevant authorities, regarding the return of the Palestinians stranded abroad.
